Custom Foil and Emboss
Foil, emboss and deboss techniques are specialty printing methods that we produce on our letterpress. The letterpress leaves an impression on the surface of the paper from a raised metal die. This printing process is distinctive, classy and can make any design even more impressive.
Foil and emboss products include business cards, coasters, pocket folders, stationery, invitations, report covers, hang tags and so much more.
Minimum order is 100 units.
Foil Stamping
With foil stamping, the foil is applied to the surface of the paper with pressure and heat. Your design will be slightly debossed (indented) in the paper from a custom made metal stamping die and the pressure applied. A wide range of paper stocks can be used including uncoated, textured, smooth and vellum in various thicknesses. Foil options include metallic and matte colors, antique patterns, multi-color, holographic, and brushed effects. Embossing
Embossing leaves a raised impression of your artwork (design) on the paper which has already been printed. Blind embossing can be accomplished with no ink or foil. Embossing is a perfect way to highlight your logo or a specific part of your design. A custom metal die and counter die will be made for this process.
Debossing
Debossing leaves an indentation of your artwork (design) in the paper from a custom made metal stamping die. The opposite effect of embossing. Blind debossing is achieved with no ink or foil, showing off your design in a subtle, yet eye-catching way.
Frequently Asked Questions
Where do I view past work and samples?
Samples of foil stamping, embossing and debossing are available to view on our Past Work page. We recommend you drop by or request a physical sample to be mailed or couriered to you before you place your order. This will ensure you like the product. We do keep samples of previous orders on the floor to draw from. Visit our Contact page and provide your name, address with postal code and which samples you are interested in. There is an extra charge for pre-production samples of your artwork (designs). Shipping charges may apply.
How do I order foil and emboss products?
Go to our Order page, fill in the form, choose your file(s), upload and then click on the submit your order button. If you’re using a cloud service, email us the link with the order specs to info@printedpromoproducts.ca.
What artwork files do you accept?
Supply your artwork at 300 dpi in AI, EPS or PDF format. Create fonts to outlines and embed all links.
Can I get help with the layout and design?
If you need assistance designing your order, we’re here to help. We can also modify your supplied file(s). Contact us for a quote.
Where are foil emboss and deboss items printed?
We custom print all your foil, embossed/debossed orders on site at our Vancouver, BC Canada location. We can imprint the balance of your artwork in color or black. Digital, offset and letterpress printing available.
Will I receive a proof before printing starts?
A PDF proof will be emailed before production begins.
What is the turnaround time?
Production time is 8 to 10 business days after the proof has been approved. Time will vary for large orders.
